i dont understand whats so bad about the special, i think its great and for someone like lebron why not. isnt that a lot better than the story just randomly breaking and then we anxiously wait on edge for a half hour for ESPN to confirm n make sure that its not bullshit. id rather just hear it from the horses mouth, call it a day and go from there

Me too. Sounds like another, bitter, angry, columnist. I personally cant wait. This is going to be one of the cant miss sports moments of our generation. Its like if Jordan was leaving the Bulls in his prime.

Great read, actually.
I'd say the majority of it is true, but LeBron isn't that sinister.
Still, you have to question the timing of all of these NYK rumors earlier today after Bosh/Wade is practically confirmed. He definitely wants the spotlight on him for the next 25-30 hours, and beyond.

I just dont like how he was pretty much in attack mode. I think LeBron is a pretty legit guy. I dont think hes as evil as this guy is making him out to be.

The focus should've been more on LeBron's team than anyone; they are the real leeches here.
It is an important announcement for the NBA and is unprecedented in many ways, but I feel like a lot of people are going to be let down, and will quickly tune out, as soon as he reveals that he is staying with the Cavs. Who wants to watch 45-50 minutes of interviews and video packages?
I mean, besides WWE fans...

They could make it like American Idol... and tease people the whole way through. ESPN isnt dumb. They will drag this out.

Well, apparently, he's going to announce his decision in the first ten minutes of the program.
I wish he would do it high school recruit-style with hats on a table, then a huge swerve at the last minute as he puts each cap on and he finds the one with "the right fit."

James will announce his plans within the first 10 minutes of the special, Norby Williamson, ESPN’s vice president of production, told The Associated Press. He said sportscaster Jim Gray, who was hand-picked by James’ team, will handle the introduction, announcement and initial questions. A person familiar with the plans tells the AP the interview will take place at the Boys & Girls Club of Greenwich, Conn.nevermind. ::epicfail:: I wonder if Jim Gray will awkwardly back Lebron into the corner like he did with Pete Rose at the 1999 All Star Game?

I was just talking about that with my brother. Since he never went to college, this is kind of like the decision day he never had. He needs to do that hat thing. Thats be amazing.

Jim Gray has a very stalker-ish look about him, especially during post-fight interviews for Showtime Boxing.

i heard benefits from the ratings are going to the boys and girls club. lebron's the man, doesn't get much better than him. can't say a bad thing about him.
